I have a problem. Even after i shutdown, my pc fans (all of them (case, CPU, Graphic, PSU)) still keeps running indefinately, i can still eject and close DVD drives, they aren't powered down!. But monitor is powered down. The leds in my case also remain on.

Spec:

i5 2500k @ 4.3
8 gb ram 1600
asus p8p67 motherboard
corsair hx750W PSU
Asus HD Radeon 6850
Windows 7

It first happened after I updated the bios to 3207. I did flash my bios version to the previous one, but the problem si still persist. For now the only way to shut it is to hold the power button or unplug/swith the PSU to off.

it a glitch and a know error with asus..just reflash your bios to the newest one and then reset it using f5.
go into windows and hit shutdown...you have to use the power switch it it reboots. once the power is off turn off the power supply so the mb power drains and use the clear the cmos jumpers. there a large posting on asus rog forume about this issue and the z77 sabertooth mb.

Sounds like you have gone into stand by not shut down. If you are using Win 7; click on start; right click on any blank area to get the properties tab; click on it;select the start menu options; select the power button options as shut down. Hit apply and close the windows. That should do it for you.

I does indeed sound like windows is trying to enter some sleep state instead of shutting down as DocSnake mentionned

A reset to the factory defaults in the BIOS might help.

If it doesn't check the power management settings in the BIOS something might be off

If it turns off the screen and fans are running, what happens when u click the mouse button?

Is it going to start up or no reaction?
